Composting

Every serious gardener needs a composting plan for their garden. Composting throughout the year means that you reduce the need for chemical fertilizers. What would have ordinarily been waste can be turned into the production of beneficial bacteria and fungi that break down to create a rich nutrient filled material.

Naturally to concentrate your efforts, a central place for your composting needs to be set up. In this video below, Granville shows you how to create such a thing with a few RYOBI power tools and some simple pallet wood.

It’s a simple DIY project that leads to huge benefits in the garden. Just be sure to only add organic waste to your compost pile such as fruit and vegetables, egg shells and other naturally growing yard scraps for example. Avoiding all animal products such as leftover meat and bones, or anything that may have come into contact with any harmful chemicals.
